Good Enough Guide to #humanitarian accountability in #emergencies now in #Burmese #Myanmar 13 languages total http://t.co/zjDiuExx 2nd FebruaryTraining & Communication Materials
The materials alone will not tell you ‘how to do’ accountability – the next step is to test using the Good Enough Guide, together with other accountability frameworks and guidelines, to help you successfully implement accountability principles in your work.
These materials are suitable for both humanitarian and development programs. They can be used by other stakeholders, such as donor agencies, local governments, and educational institutions, and they may be replicated and adapted with no fee for non-commercial purposes. Download the long and short versions of the accountability films, multi-lingual posters and leaflets by clicking on the menu options left.
When using the materials with the community, consider the following:
- Before talking to communities about accountability, you must be sure that you can meet your commitments to them. Can you change the project as a result of feedback? If you receive a complaint, do you have the structures in place to follow up with everyone concerned?
- The materials should be part of a wider awareness raising activity, for example talking to community groups about accountability and understanding their needs
- The materials do not have to be displayed as posters –you could produce them as laminated cards, or flipbooks, to share together with community groups or individuals
- The materials are available in six languages: English, Spanish, French, Arabic, Bangla, and Burmese. They area available both in PDF or In-Design format for you to download. If you need to edit the translations or design your own images, to make them relevant in your context, you are welcome to do so.
- Please carefully read these technical guidelines in ENGLISH / in FRENCH / in SPANISH
We are developing training material guidelines and case studies that will support you when you are preparing accountability training workshops or community outreach programs. These materials will be available soon. For further information, please contact us.
