Save the Children

Save the Children logoSave the Children is an international non-governmental organization that is dedicated to helping children around the world. Save the Children engages in activities ranging from emergency aid to developing sustainable education programs.

Save the Children sees the ECB Project as a way to drive results for the Agency and enable the achievement of their mission to create lasting positive change in the lives of children.

Save the Children has identified several priority areas, that are measured against the Phase II result statements, including:

  • Improving the speed of emergency response
  • Appropriateness of response
  • Quality of response
  • Developing impact measurement
  • Accountability to affected populations
  • Disaster Risk Reduction and Preparedness
  • Staff Capacity inititaives including the CBHA program

Save the Children is the lead agency for the Bangladesh consortium. In addition to participating in government and UN-led disaster coordination in Bangladesh, Harun or Rashid, together with other consortium members (CARE, Concern, CRS, Plan, Oxfam, World Vision) meet regularly to coordinate on creating child freindly spaces in emergencies, avoiding duplication in certain geographic areas, and accountability to beneficiaries.
