ECB Niger hosted the third of our series of ECBinter-active learning events on 18 and 19 January 2012.
The two day agenda included a series of stimulating and challenging discussions and interactive sessions arranged around several themes:
- Community based participatory risk analysis and planning
- Community Early Warning and Emergency Response System
- Accountability and the Good Enough Guide
- Simulations
- The participation of children in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR)
There were speakers and facilitators from international NGOs: CARE, CRS, Mercy Corps, Oxfam, Plan and Save the Children.
A paper presented by Moctar Hamidou and Richard Jacquot (pictured left, second from left) of Mercy Corps is available to download in French: “La Simulation: Outil d’Apprentissage et de Préparation aux Réponses d’Urgence”.
Please explore the summary learning event agenda and read the participants' blog (in French) for personal perspectives of the event.
