    2 May 2013: The ECB Project’s Niger Consortium planning joint evaluation

    Following the joint needs assessment and advocacy work in Niger after the 2011 food crisis, the ECB Project’s Niger Consortium has decided to conduct a joint evaluation of the response. Read more

    22 February 2013: The Good Enough Guide to Assessments (GEGA) – Feedback required

    The Assessment Capacities Project (ACAPS) in collaboration with the ECB Project are developing a new guide, entitled The Good Enough Guide to Assessments (GEGA). At present the resources available to build the capacity of staff to carry out needs assessments are limited, and in particular there is no guidance that pulls together critical lessons learned from previous assessments into a single usable handbook. The GEGA is being produced in order to fill this gap. Read more

    Inter-agency Standing Team improves accountability

    Our new Accountability & Impact Measurement (AIM) Standing Team is a skilled inter-agency group that is championing accountability and impact measurement across agencies and regions. The AIM Standing Team is available for deployment to support field staff with assessments, evaluations, monitoring missions and members can train teams to implement accountability principals in practice.     16 November 2010: Evaluating the Haitian response together

    Using a new participatory methodology, CARE and Save the Children in Haiti recently conducted a Joint Evaluation of their humanitarian response. The team faced several challenges early in the process, but once 30 national staff were leading focus group discussions, powerful inter-agency collaboration ensued. This experience contributes to a growing body of knowledge on Joint Evaluations. Read more
