5 March 2013: ECB Project attends consultation on AADMER engagement and partnership in Thailand
The ECB Project is committed to sharing learning with sector partners. To this end ECB Indonesia’s Field Facilitator, Wahyu Widayanto, represented the ECB Project at the “South East Asia Civil Society Consultation on AADMER Engagement and Partnership*”, held in Bangkok, Thailand, on January 28 – 29, 2013. 25 February 2013: Resources to Improve Shelter Sector Accountability Approaches
Over the past eighteen months, the ECB Project agencies have worked with the IASC Shelter Cluster to improve accountability to affected communities within emergency shelter programs. This was achieved through the provision of shelter training workshops and Shelter Accountability Resources to support shelter teams in the field. Read more
21 February 2013: The AIM Standing Team Experiment
In 2011, the ECB Project agencies created a new Accountability and Impact Measurement (AIM) Standing Team initiative designed to train national staff from multiple agencies to support accountability to disaster affected communities and find ways to implement accountability in a practical and sustainable ways across their own agency programs. 29 January 2013: EFSL 48-hour assessment tool now available in English, French and Spanish
The increase in rapid-onset humanitarian emergencies has put pressure on those who need to make quick, well informed and effective decisions. In response, Oxfam, with the support of the ECB Project agencies, created an Emergency Food Security and Livelihoods (EFSL) ’48-hour assessment tool’, now available in English, French and Spanish. The purpose of the tool is to obtain a quick understanding of the EFSL situation within the first few days after a rapid-onset disaster so that humanitarian staff can make timely assessments that will inform the design of EFSL response programs. 23 January 2013: ECB Consortia Countries launch Toward Resilience: A Guide to Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation

21 January 2013: ECB agencies respond to flooding in Jakarta, Indonesia
Heavy rain, flooding and a burst levee (dyke) have affected approximately 55,000 people in Jakarta, Indonesia, with 19,000 evacuated from their homes. Three ECB Project agencies - Mercy Corps, Save the Children and World Vision - are considering submitting a joint proposal to USAID to provide non-food items and hygiene kit assistance to a proportion of the affected families in the worst hit districts of Jakarta (in the West, North and East of the city) over a one month period.
