21 May 2013: Cyclone Mahasen update - Joint Needs Assessment ongoing in Bangladesh
The Assessment Capacities Project (ACAPS), with support from ECB agencies and other stakeholders, under the overall coordination of the Humanitarian Country Task Team (HCTT), is in the process of organizing a joint needs assessment (JNA) in Bangladesh. The JNA will take place in the three affected districts of Patuakhali, Barguna and Bhola, following the impact of cyclone Mahasen. Read more
16 May 2013: Government, donors and humanitarian community prepare for joint needs assessment after Cyclone Mahasen
Arout 50 representatives from the donor community and International Non-Governmental Organizations in Bangladesh have held a meeting at the Save the Children office to decide on a response plan for when Cyclone Mahasen makes landfall. Read more

ECB Project Agencies and ACAPS representatives are preparing for cyclone Mahasen which according to reports from the Bangladesh Meteorological Department is anticipated will make landfall around the Chittagong area on Thursday 16th May. Read more

The ECB Project and the Assessment Capacities Project (ACAPS) are working together to develop a Good Enough Guide to Assessments (GEGA), designed to build the capacity of field staff, managers and technical staff to carry out needs assessments. Read more

25 February 2013: Resources to Improve Shelter Sector Accountability Approaches
Over the past eighteen months, the ECB Project agencies have worked with the IASC Shelter Cluster to improve accountability to affected communities within emergency shelter programs. This was achieved through the provision of shelter training workshops and Shelter Accountability Resources to support shelter teams in the field. Read more
21 February 2013: The AIM Standing Team Experiment
In 2011, the ECB Project agencies created a new Accountability and Impact Measurement (AIM) Standing Team initiative designed to train national staff from multiple agencies to support accountability to disaster affected communities and find ways to implement accountability in a practical and sustainable ways across their own agency programs.
