Indonesia consortium visit Bolivia for Learning Exchange
Published on 8 July 2011
ECB Project team members from Catholic Relief Services, Save the Children and Wahyu Widayanto (Indonesia ECB Field Facilitator) visited Bolivia as part of the successful Indonesia / Bolivia learning exchange visit on June 27 – July 1, 2011. Successfully facilitated by Ingrid Terrazas (Bolivia ECB Field Facilitator), focal points from the Bolivia consortium met with the Indonesia representatives during a one day workshop to share experiences from Indonesia on the Disaster Response Engagement Protocols, the Joint Need Assessment and Joint Activity/Engagement of ECB Indonesia. The Bolivia focal points presented on the key areas of their experience on Accountability, Disaster Risk Reduction/Climate Change Adaptation experiences and Coordination/interaction. Parallels were noted by the participants between the two contexts, particularly around DRR / livelihood activities. The DRR livelihood mapping that has already taken place in Bolivia was noted for the positive support provided by the government in the Beni region of Bolivia. The Indonesia participants will share the visit experiences with other focal points during the next PMT meeting and a visit report is anticipated in due course.
