Humanitarian Lessons learned with the University of Groningen
The Humanitarian Innovation Fund supports organisations and individuals to identify, nurture and share innovative solutions to the challenges facing operational agencies in the delivery of effective humanitarian aid.
Published on 26 May 2011
Out of almost 200 entries, the University of Groningen was one of four winners, in partnership with the ECB project. The Humanitarian Lessons learned - Genome Project 1.0 is an innovative project aimed at creating a cloud-based database search engine, which will ensure speedier access to information.
The ECB Project brings real-world experience, knowledge and data to the Genome Project, which it is hoped will eventually be used in place of the existing Evaluative Database that was developed under Phase I.
The Humanitarian Innovation Fund (HIF) is a landmark grant-making fund to support organisations working in countries struck by humanitarian crises, such as Haiti or Pakistan, to develop, test and share new technologies and processes that will make humanitarian aid more effective and cost-efficient in the future
