    JOB: Consultancy to map NGO engagement in coordinated emergency assessments

    The ECB Project is seeking a consultant to support the ECB Accountability work plan.

    The main objective of this consultancy is to map existing NGO engagement with coordinated emergency assessments, highlighting key lessons and examples of good practice.

    The resulting findings and recommendations from the report will help guide approaches and priority-setting for future Joint Needs Assessment (JNA) work.

    Consultant Profile

    • Experience of leading and conducting independent reviews of humanitarian programs, including at a strategic level;
    • Experience in emergency assessment approaches and methodologies;
    • First-hand knowledge and field exposure to the work of large INGO confederations and humanitarian reform systems;
    • Proven analytic and written English writing skills in producing reports that are user-friendly for target audiences.

    Timeframe: Total of 12 consultant days during June 2011.

    2. A cover message indicating how the prospective candidate's profile fits this assignment along with a brief summary of proposed methodology and cost proposal
    3. A writing sample, preferably on a related theme.
