Bolivia launch coordinated response to floods and landslides

    Published on 22 March 2011

The Bolivia consortium has taken a decision to launch a Joint Needs Assessment in response to recent flood and landslide disasters in La Paz and rural provinces. It is anticipated $5,000 will be made available from the ECB Flexible Emergency Capacity Building Fund. A working group including CRS, PLAN, CARE and the ECB Field Facilitator are making the final arrangements, but the final assessment team will consist of all agencies in the Consortium of Humanitarian Agencies in Bolivia except Action Against Hunger and Christian Aid.

Jock Baker (ECB AIM adviser - CARE) is working closely with CARE and ECB focal points to link with the ACAPS initiative at the global level in order to secure technical assistance for the assessment, due to take place in the next few days. Ingrid Terrazas, ECB Field Facilitator, will be posting situation reports.
