The Sphere Project’s Humanitarian Charter and Minimum Standards in Humanitarian Response is a core training and reference tool for humanitarians. ECB Project agencies collaborating in the Bangladesh consortium recently worked together to translate the revised 2011 edition of the Sphere handbook into Bangla. This work, which will see Sphere reach a total of 15 official translations, was completed in partnership with the Disaster Forum and the International Federation of the Red Cross / Red Crescent (IFRC).
The Bangladesh consortium is planning a launch event and a Sphere Training of Trainers workshop in September 2012; this will further enlarge and strengthen the cadre of national staff who can train colleagues and partners to use the handbook.

13 May 2013: Good Enough Guide to Assessments – initial feedback complete
The Good Enough Guide to Assessments (GEGA) is being designed by the Assessment Capacities Project (ACAPS), using the ‘good enough’ approach, to produce a simple, practical handbook on needs assessments. As part of the GEGA review process, three ECB Project consortia successfully held consultation workshops to provide feedback on the guide. Read more
