Earthquake and Small Tsunamis hit Sumatra, Indonesia

An earthquake measuring 8.6 (RS) in magnitude hit the coastal area around Sumatra Island, Indonesia. Small tsunamis reached the islands coast thereafter. Thus far only low level damage and minimal life loss are reported. Muslim Aid are the only ECB partner currently working in the Aceh area. At the moment a joint needs assessment is not being planned.
