DRR/CCA Practitioners Guide Summit 1 held successfully in Bangkok

    Published on 11 October 2011

Between 19th – 22nd September CRS and Save the Children, in collaboration with independent consultants Charlotte Sterrett and Marilise Turnbull, successfully delivered the first summit in the development of the DRR / CCA Practitioners Guide. Ten participants, nominated from the five ECB consortia joined the six specialist staff from the six agencies represented in the ECB DRR Advisors group and the two independent consultants. The workshop was the first step to begin to articulate the key content of the guide.

During the four day workshop in Bangkok, the key themes raised during the consortia consultation workshops that took place earlier this year were discussed, and common ground between the 6 agencies was agreed. Next steps agreed include a first draft of the guide to be released for review in December, and either a follow up summit or a series of consortia level workshops in February next year to get a final draft of the guide out in March and translated / field tested in April.

Please contact us if you would like further information about the Practitioners Guide or if you would like to know more regarding the outputs of the Practitioners Guide Summit.
