Linda Poteat, ECB Project Director
Linda Poteat spent the last seven years in the Humanitarian Policy and Practice Unit at InterAction, the largest consortium of US-based NGOs that work in relief and development. As Director for Disaster Response, Linda oversaw all the crisis-specific working groups, as well as the Disaster Risk Reduction, Staff Care and Civil Military working groups. Linda was the lead contact for US government, UN, Inter-Agency Standing Committee Working Group and Sphere Board liaison. Linda was deployed to Haiti from January to March 2010 to support NGO coordination activities in response to the earthquake. Before joining InterAction, Linda spent ten years in the field in eastern Europe and Africa. Linda is a member of the Advisory Group for the Overseas Development Institute’s Humanitarian Policy Group.
Dr. Kwame Boate, ECB Project Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist
Dr. Boate brings over 10 years of research, monitoring and evaluation experience to the ECB. He manages ECB's monitoring and evaluation activities. Prior to joining the ECB team, Kwame worked with Habitat for Humanity as a Program Design, Monitoring and Evaluation specialist in the global programs division. As a member of the American Evaluation Association, Kwame is also a certified Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Professional. In his spare time, Kwame builds computer servers and designs websites.
Andrea Stewart, ECB Project Communications Manager
Andrea is currently coordinating the implementation of our five regional learning conferences ECB inter-active. Andrea manages the ECB website, the ECB intranet site (ECBconnect), and our e-newsletter. Andrea also supports many program activities including the development and dissemination of capacity building materials, guidelines and tools (such as the Good Enough Guide Communications materials). Andrea particularly enjoys working with our ECB consortia countries to develop programs such as Bangladesh’s Joint Advocacy Strategy; and helping with communications during Emergency Simulations. While travelling in Bolivia and Indonesia, Andrea learnt about field collaboration through the Joint Needs Assessment (JNA) approach and through supporting testing the ECB disaster response protocols. Andrea presents the ECB project at humanitarian events and supports other ECB stakeholders to continually share our learning e.g. UN, Inter-Action and ALNAP conferences.
Dave Hockaday, ECB Global Field Project Manager
David supports the five ECB Field Facilitators in the design, revision and implementation of the consortium engagement plans (CEP). As the focal point for all of the work of the consortia for ECB Agency Managers, ECB Project Staff, ECB Advisor Groups and others, David also has a role in the coordination and sharing of learning across the various ECB stakeholders and also externally to other partners and interested parties.
Katy Love, ECB Knowledge Management and Learning Coordinator
Katy leads the knowledge management and learning portfolio for the project. She developed a strategy to ensure that ECB facilitates a learning process, and that stakeholders capture, share, and apply knowledge. Katy works closely with ECB’s three cross-cutting Advisory groups and many of the ECB tools. Katy also coordinates the interagency Accountability and Impact Measurement Standing Team. She speaks Spanish, Portuguese, and French.
Nita Hassan, ECB Grants and Finance Manager
As Grants and Finance Manager, Nita is responsible for deveoping and deploying a robust system of financial and grants management for Phase II of the ECB Project. Nita also supports the ECB Fundraising Committee in the financial and budgetary aspects of further resource mobilization for the ECB Project. Nita divides her time between the ECB Project and CARE USA's emergency unit, and has been with CARE for eight years. In her previous role she was the Program Officer for Asia Region. Other than CARE, Nita has worked in corporate finance with Verizon Telecom for seven years. Nita has an MBA in Accounting from Mercer University, and a BA in Economics from Randolph College in Virginia.
