CARE

CARE logo CARE is a large humanitarian and international development organization that works in over 70 countries. CARE seeks a world of hope, tolerance and social justice, where poverty has been overcome and people live in dignity and security.   CARE focuses on working with women, placing  women's empowerment at the heart of CARE’s community-based efforts to improve basic education, prevent the spread of HIV, increase access to clean water and sanitation, expand economic opportunity and protect natural resources.

CARE, as lead agency of the ECB Project, aims to respond more effectively and comprehensively to humanitarian emergencies worldwide and thereby increase the scope and impact of their emergency programmes. In particular, CARE is leading the Niger consortium with the support of Johannes Schoor, Country Director, and Kadidia Mambo, ECB Niger Field Facilitator.

ECB Agency Manager Angela Rouse is measuring the teams progress against all result statements outlined in Phase II.  The three focus program areas include:

  1. Internal and External Humanitarian Policy & Strategy
  2. Strengthening Capacities and Capabilities in Priority Areas
  3. Strengthening Humanitarian Operations
